Minutes of January 21, 2006 CAGP Quarterly Meeting
1. Record Attendance - 10 people total
2. Treasurer’s Report
- Balance: $577.19
- Incurred expenses included web site maintenance, Dilworth Jubilee and Plaza-Midwood Library reservation
- New membership
- Nick to be added to checking account name
3. NCGP Coordinating Committee
- Brian Stanton unanimously voted in to join state party and serve as a delegate (along with Nick, Alan and Kathryn)
4. Climate Change Update
- Mecklenburg County passes resolution to recognize climate change
- 200 other communities in NC have passed similar resolutions
- Proposal to go to various city councils around the area to spread the word
- Create established statement of ideology (i.e. family values, helathcare, investment, national security, etc.)
- Brian will draft statement and garner feedback from CAGP members
- Action: anything we see/read/hear, send to listserv as opportunity to share
5. Rally to Investigate/Impeach President Bush
- Alan and Brian to reach out to Coalition for Peace and Justice (in conjunction with annual symposium in the fall), ACORN and Charlotte
- Democracy for America
- Lynn to reach out to Jane Whitley
6. Discussion on Nick Triplett running for City Council next year
7. Next CAGP meeting will be April 8, 2006
