Minutes of January 22, 2005 CAGP Quarterly Meeting
Attending: Alan Burns, Len Clemmer, Gregg Jocoy, Nancy Jocoy, Kathryn Kuppers, Harry Phillips, Nick Triplett, Susan Triplett, Casey Watson
Kathryn Kuppers read the minutes from the last CAGP meeting held in October of 2004.
A quorum of active members unanimously approved renewing group membership in the Ribbonwalk Forest Preserve, at the cost of $100. Kathryn will call the Ribbonwalk office to possibly arrange for CAGP members to volunteer to remove invasive plants sometime in July. We also intend to have our July meeting at Ribbonwalk,
UNCC Earth Day will be April 18 this year. Kathryn, Harry, and Susan will man the table.
We will pass out CAGP brochures and NCGP platform summaries.
Payment to Michael for webmaster duties in February, March, and April of 2005 was approved. Nick agreed to periodically assess the CAGP website for overall ease of use and appearance. Kathryn will continue to post upcoming events and minutes of meetings.
Members decided not to rent a P.O. Box for the CAGP. Susan will make stickers to update the contact information on the CAGP brochures, replacing Alan’s address with Nick’s.
The Center for Voting and Democracy will be sponsoring a workshop on February 12 at the Charlotte-West Blvd. Branch Library. CAGP members are encouraged to attend. Call 301 270-4616 for more info or to register.
The next meeting, at which new officers will be elected, will be held at Alan Burns’s house. The date was tentatively set as April 16, time of the day to be decided. Alan will invite Mecklenburg County Commissioner Jennifer Roberts to be a guest speaker at that meeting.
After the meeting had been officially adjourned, Treasurer Casey Watson reported that the CAGP checking account balance was $1,814.21 as of December 31, 2004. Casey proposed drawing up different levels for membership dues. This proposal will be discussed on the listserve, and voted on at the next meeting.
