  • The Charlotte Area Green Party welcomed new attendees. There were 17 adults in attendance. Seven persons were attending for the first time.
  • Kathryn Kuppers read minutes from July 15 meeting.
  • Web-site construction was discussed. Harry Phillips asked for input from members
about possible links and overall appearance. The webmaster Tim Merrill has said the
site should be completed by Labor Day.
  • The statewide gathering at UNCC was discussed. The agenda will be set at the
upcoming August 19 planning meeting, also at UNCC. The dates for the statewide
gathering are September 21-23. Virginia Jordan asked for members to volunteer to
offer housing for out-of-town attendees. There was also a request for suggestions for
entertainment for Saturday night. The campus Greens would like to offer two free
breakfasts somehow. By Sunday there should be ratification of bylaws and election
of statewide officers. So far only ten people have registered for free housing.

$100.00 expenditure by the treasurer without a general vote.
  • Endorsement of Charlotte mayoral candidates was discussed. Several members were
hesitant to endorse any candidate that does not fully embrace all green values. A
meeting with Ella Scarborough will be set up soon. It was decided that Mcrory
should be extended a similar invitation.
  • A protest of fast-track was announced to begin next Friday at noon in front of Rep.
Sue Myrick's office on Morrison Blvd. FLOC will also be organizing a candlelight
